Underrated spot. I usually frequent Joshua tree for the low light pollution for the photography, but for a shorter drive and just causal star gazing, this is a great spot to catch some meteor showers.

They charge for night parking, and since the only spot are the RV, its a steep price, but worth it, rather than trying to sneak past a park ranger at statepark at night.
